Culinary excellence programme

The French Minister of the Interior, working jointly with the French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, has enacted the implementation of a simplified fast-track scheme to bring foreign nationals to France within the framework of a "culinary excellence programme" starting from 1 January 2015.

It is intended that this programme will enable the value of France's culinary heritage to be appreciated even more widely and contribute to its influence being spread throughout the world. Those who benefit from this scheme are thus destined to become ambassadors for French gastronomy.

Open only to those restaurants able to present a guarantee of their culinary excellence, this procedure will allow foreign nationals to come to France under an internship agreement (in the context of initial or continuing training) or an employment contract. Both kitchen and front-of-house staff are concerned.
